Thank you to for continuing to make Indian River Youth Sports organizations possible.

Coach Christopher Jefferson, Lady Sharks Basketball Team
The funds from the ShrimpFest made it possible for 10 girls to attend a team camp in Tampa. The funds paid the entire cost for them, it helped feed them while they were in Tampa and pay for the gas. Due to these team building activities we are closer to being a team now than we have been since I have been head coach. To me there is no greater joy for a coach then to have his team be able to travel together and be together and not have to worry whether every kid has enough money. So, thanks to the ShrimpFest, we had a very successful summer.
Elizabeth Thomason, Boys & Girls Club
There is a tremendous need for our services in Indian River County and with the support from the Rotary Club of Sebastian through their ShrimpFest we can help make a difference in the lives of the kids who need us the most. Last year the funds enabled 329 kids to attend the Boys & Girls Club, some received a 50% scholarship and some received a 100% scholarship. Families must demonstrate the need for the scholarships with an application and pay stubs, this assures the funds go to the children who need them the most.
Alan Dobson, Treasure Coast Rugby Foundation
We currently support a boys team and a girls team. We are 100% self funding and it costs a lot of money to run these programs. Last year, with the assistance of the funds from the ShrimpFest, we were able to take the teams to Charlotte, NC for the rugby tournament, a regional event that attracts a large number of college coaches looking to recruit players and provide scholarships. This tournament also provided us with some tough competition which helped prepare us for the State Championship competition. In the past six years 12 girls have attended university on scholarships due to the rugby program. Not one of them would have been able to attend without the funding we received from community events.
Evan Bush, President, Interact Club of Sebastian River High School
The Interact Club is an extension of the Rotary Club, its members are high school students. The money we have received from the ShrimpFest will allow us to fund a number of projects we have planned for the future including a leadership class, Toys for Tots, etc. Additionally, we will be purchasing club shirts so whenever we attend functions or volunteer somewhere, it will be easy to recognize us as members of the Interact Club. We also have a charity we help called Shining Light Mission, an orphanage in Haiti that houses about 50 orphans under the direction of Hosny Cazeau, a former teacher at Sebastian River High School.
Pat Riviezzo, Sebastian Soccer Traveling U17 Tournament Team
The funds we received from last year's ShrimpFest made it possible for the team to travel and complete all over the state. These funds enabled the coach to provide food and transportation for all the players who, otherwise, would not have been able to afford to participate.
Mike Perez, Sebastian River High School Girls Lacrosse
With the help of the ShrimpFest and other fundraisers we have constructed a concrete practice wall for the players to use in developing pass and catch skills. We spent money on warm up gear (the school only provides uniforms). Our philosophy is to "raise it first; spend it later". We are building up funding to help us achieve our forward looking goals.
